Google introduced an experimental new tool Google Correlate on Google Labs which is useful for researchers to model the behavior of the real world using search trends. It uses web search activity data to find queries with a similar pattern to a target data series. The results can be viewed on the Google Correlate website or downloaded as a CSV file for further analysis.

Researchers from Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences shown the first controlled flight of Robotic insects. They are half the size of a paper clip, weighing less than a tenth of a gram, the robot was inspired by the biology of a fly, with submillimeter-scale anatomy and two wafer-thin wings that flap almost invisibly 120 times per second.
